Break Time!

Just imagine these ice houses as cabanas on a warm beach and you get the idea of what I'm thinkin... There is no hell worse than March in Maine. It isn't spring, it's just grinding torpor.

OK, FOLKS. It's time for me to take a break from this. I shall return... just gimmie a couple weeks to gather my wits, and my things, and I'll be back. Writing from who knows where.

Don't you ever have times when you detest the computer? That's how I"m feeling lately. A palpable repulsion if I even get near the thing, look at it, think about typing. I seem to have it in for screens in general. As Eddie Izzard (whose new standup video Stripped is, btw, wonderful, live stream on netflix; yes, he's back, his old hilarious self after a long hiatus and a crap tour in 03 after the British press fiasco) would put it "I just sort of long for a bungalow or something", in my case on a white sandy beach. So let's just step away from the usual and take a fresh look at the world, refresh my brain's screen, and take a deep breath. Maybe a few deep breaths, and maybe on a warm beach somewhere.... where someone will bring me a nice Mai-Tai.... and then another one.... while I study the water's edge.... for days.... empty headed.... deliciously close to death...

Here' s a little quotation T sent me that she felt was appropriate.

"Some people, in working towards a goal, find themselves seized by inertia when it comes time for action. If this should happen to you, despite the small graduated steps, then it is time to re-examine your goal. Consider how important it actually is and then either discard the goal and replace it with more suitable one or continue the steps with a renewed sense of the value of achieving it."

- Fitzhugh Dodson

Yes, I think I'll do just that..
