"... Only gradually did I discover what the mandala really is: 'Formation, Transformation, Eternal Mind's eternal creation' (Faust, II). And that is the self, the wholeness of the personality, which if all goes well is harmonious,
but which cannot tolerate self-deceptions." C. G. Jung
In other words, know thyself or go/be mad....
Here's a little fun for a Sunday afternoon – if you're not a NY Times puzzle fan or you're just plain sick of doing that: go to the HumanMetrics homepage and take this brief test to find out what your true nature is. Then head on over to the TypeLogic page and read more about that personality type, compatible friends, mates, etc. But be sure when you take the test to take time to really ask yourself each question. If you find yourself pausing over one, not sure, really take your time on that one. It's usually an indication that you're prone to answer how you see yourself or how others see you rather than how you really feel about the question. Consider each question as though it had never occurred to you before... really! Don't assume you actually know the answers. Sit with the question a moment before answering. Look within. The impulse to self deception is strong in everyone but the most self aware individuals. We may strive for that but, face it, it's a lifelong pursuit.
Have fun with this, do it with a pal if one is handy. But be sincere in your answers and you'll get a result that may surprise you. I ended up really liking the company I was in! Who knew?
Let me know how it turns out for you.. what your four letter type is, in the comments below.
And ...in our ongoing quest to use more natural substances to keep our skin healthy and our faces looking fresh, there's this site, Natural living for women (scroll down to bottom for links to homemade facials and exfoliants), and another with tips on homegrown skin solutions which I can vouch for cause I did the egg and sugar one last night and this morning my skin looks great. One of those moments when you're glad you have the luxury of "me time" alone, no one to see your strange mischief.
Hasta la vista, sistah...
ooooo...ooooo, Toody! Here's Mo Dowd today in the NY Times on the church's failure to defrock kanoodling pedophiles and its refusal to allow the ordination of women priests:
" The Vatican’s insistence on male prerogative is misogynistic poppycock."
Yes! You go, girl!
