Well, it's nearly midnight here, so time to say ...
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO the person who has brought so much joy to my life.... MY wonderful GIRL the best daughter anyone could wish for, was born on this day, oh, a few decades ago!! She can now start lying about her age along with the rest of us, which is, uh, 29 is it? Many happy returns, mi hija. May your year ahead be a box of delights. Salud!
So, come along now and let's slip into the Cathedral.... don't forget to click on pics to enlarge them...
In the morning on my way to school, I was walking down the Avenida with my Starbucks latte in one hand, my heavy schoolbag over my shoulder, and I realized much to my surprise that the Cathedral was open (it usually isn't, at least with any predictability, only the smaller Baptistry which I posted pictures of the other day, stunning in and of itself), so having a few minutes to spare I thought it would be a good way to start the day.
OMG.... I have seen a few nice churches in Europe, lovely cathedrals, but nothing I've seen anywhere is a patch on this glorious cathedral, and my pictures can't pretend to do it justice.
I know I should be hitting the hay now, big day tomorrow, but I just had to share them with you. Enjoy.
SO a big smootch and heartfelt hug to the Tansmania on her special day from mama.
