Pope Francis visits Auschwitz-Birkenau, insisting he do so in silence, because there are no words.  While aspiring to heights of humanism, we must not forget the worst of which humans are still capable, and must identify with conviction the demagogues that lead us to cruelty in the name of "freedom".
